Elephant In The Room Stupendous Langhorne Creek Shiraz 2023 (Australia)
Deep ruby- close to purple in colour with lifted notes of red berry and blackcurrants framed by violet overtones and subtle cedarwood spice. Great flavour, supple tannin and a long finish. Delicious.
The Elephant in the Room wines are proudly large in scale and expansive in flavour. Created to deliver full bodied and mouth-filling wines, Elephant in the Room gives consumers what they want- quality, flavour and something to talk about. Each wine is sourced from slow-ripening cool climate vineyards and partially matured in French Oak before final blending and bottling by Corey Ryan.
With consistent, mild weather throughout the season, above-average crop yields, and extended hang time, grape growers and winemakers are reporting an exceptional, high-quality, memorable vintage in 2023.
Sourced from a selection of mature, dry-grown vineyards in Langhorne Creek managed by Jim Zerella. The fruit is partially hand-harvested before de-stemming and cool fermentation in small two tonne open fermenters with regular hand plunging. Matured in seasoned French oak (20% new French) for six months before bottling with minimal filtration and sulphur addition.
Food Pairing: A generous wine, packed full of flavour that would pair perfectly with roast lamb.
