Falconhead Hawke's Bay Pinot Gris 2021
- Dry style
- Juicy pear
- Ginger spice
- Silky mouthfeel
"Ripe, fruity core and varietal with aromas of green pear and apple, some quince, white blossoms and honeysuckle. Lush, juicy, salivating and just dry on the palate with a whisper of residual sweetness. Flavours of white fleshed fruits and some citrus coat the palate with contrasting acidity and a touch of spice. Balanced and well made" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Aug 2021
Lifted aromas of white flowers, ginger spice, and juicy ripe pear. The palate is generously textured and beautifully balanced with a long silky, seamless finish. This wine is drinking well now but can be cellared for up to 4 years.
The fruit for this wine was sourced from four of Falconhead's Hawke’s Bay vineyards - Riverview, Colefield, Tantallon, Kinross.
The grapes were transported to the Riverview winery where they were pressed to stainless steel tanks and fermented using predominantly 58W3 yeast. The resulting wines were transported by road tanker to the Katikati winery for blending, finishing and bottling.
Food Pairing: Seafood, poultry and pork.
