Fire Road Marlborough Pinot Gris 2020

Fire Road Marlborough Pinot Gris 2020

  • Dry style
  • Passionfruit & melon
  • Foral notes
  • Ripe pear & citrus

The aroma displays lifted notes of melon, passionfruit and delicate florals. The palate is juicy and mouth filling with delicious ripe pear, citrus and tropical fruit. The wine is beautifully textured and expressive showing excellent weight and length. Harmonious, approachable and definitely worth a second glass (or bottle)!

The grapes for this wine were harvested at optimum ripeness from a selection of vineyards in Marlborough’s Omaka, Wairau and Awatere Valleys.

Marlborough’s worst ever fire, Boxing Day 2000, burnt 6,000 ha, for over three days, killed thousands of stock and threatened the wine town of Blenheim, as well as a number of vineyards and wineries. Disaster was avoided by the brave residents, of what is now known as Fire Road, who battled the blaze, by using buckets and hand held hoses and were eventually assisted by a fortunate wind shift.

Food Pairing: Well matched with chicken yakitori or sushi.
