Good Company Marlborough Pinot Gris 2017

Good Company Marlborough Pinot Gris 2017

*** ON PREMISE ONLY ***

This Pinot Gris is brimming with pear drop and fresh figs, leading to flavours of stone fruit and mandarin. The palate is focused and shows wonderful balance between fruit sweetness and acidity, with a refreshing crisp finish.

Marlborough experienced a mild-to-cool spring period, which ensured that the vines naturally produced lighter than average yields. These mild temperatures then extended into the summer months, coupled with an unseasonal period of rain, which ultimately alleviated the drought conditions we had experienced over the past two years. Carrying lighter than usual crops along with the cooler weather meant harvest started at a similar time to other vintages. The Pinot Gris from this year is showing fig and nashi pear with some bees wax high tones. The wines are fresh with a lively, bright palate.

Select parcels of Pinot Gris were individually harvested, de-stemmed and gently pressed. The juice was cold settled for 48 hours then racked prior to a long cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks to capture and enhance the fruit flavours of pear, fig and stone fruit. Each parcel was fermented separately using a range of selected yeasts. Following fermentation the wine was blended, stabilised, then filtered prior to bottling.

Food Pairing: Enjoy with Asian food, chicken and light pasta dishes.
