Guerrieri Rizzardi Pinot Grigio delle Venezie DOP 2018 (Italy)
"Elegant and restrained, the wine shows apple, lemon peel, dried grass and almond characters on the nose, leading to a finely textured palate that is crisp and linear. It is light, refreshing and lingering. At its best: now to 2021" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2019
A substantial Pinot Grigio with classic aromas of pear and a hint of peach leading to a palate that offers plenty of lively fruit. In style this a richer more concentrated Pinot Grigio that has lasting flavour. Drink from 6 months up to 3 years after the vintage.
The grapes are cultivated in several hectares of vineyards across the hills in the eastern part of the Verona wine area. The grapes are harvested in the coolest hours of the day, in order to keep the aromatic varietal freshness.
Alcoholic fermentation after pressing of the de-stemmed grapes lasts for 10 to 12 days at a temperature between 15°C and 16°C in stainless steel temperature controlled tanks.
Food Pairing: As aperitif wine; dim-sum; spring rolls; grilled fish.
