Hãhã Marlborough Pinot Noir 2020
- Toasty oak
- Plum & clove
- Roasted nuts
- Fine tannins
"Bright and youthfully attractive, showing sweet plum, raspberry, clove and roasted nut aromas on the nose, leading to a beautifully rounded palate delivering succulent fruit flavours together with silky texture and fine tannins. Upfront and juicy, making it fabulously drinkable. At its best: now to 2023" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Feb 2021
Deep velvety red in colour. The palate is juicy and full-bodied, delivering succulent fruit flavours together with a subtle spicy complexity, finishing long and smooth. A big, aromatic Pinot Noir with dark berry, black cherry and underlying savoury characters.
Grapes were harvested from vineyards in the Wairau Valley and Awatere Valley in Marlborough, New Zealand. We were incredibly lucky to be able to create this wine in 2020, with the country in a nationwide lockdown during the harvest period due to COVID-19. Fortunately after near perfect weather, harvest was a real pleasure and our 2020 wines carry some very unique memories. The juice was cold soaked prior to temperature controlled fermentation, in a mixture of stainless steel tanks and oak barrels. With minimal intervention and fining, this wine was matured on oak for 8 months prior to filtering and bottling.
Food Pairing: We love drinking this with a Thai beef salad.
