Kingfisher Bay Marlborough Pinot Gris 2025

Kingfisher Bay Marlborough Pinot Gris 2025

"Beautifully fruited and inviting, the bouquet presents ripe peach, Nashi pear, fig, and lemon peel aromas, followed by a pristine palate that offers juicy fruit flavours with fine texture and bright acidity, making it refreshing and delightfully drinkable. At its best: now to 2027" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2025

Scale_1 - Black Market

"Varietal, fresh and fruity with flavours of fresh pears and yellow apples, a fine layer of citrus and pear juice then mineral and white spice. Balanced and well made in an off-dry style. There’s a fine phenolic texture, decent acid line and moderate length. Best drinking from 2025 through 2027" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Sep 2025

The wine presents a pale straw hue with lifted aromas of ripe orchard pear and crisp red apple. The palate is full and luscious, displaying layered orchard fruit characters supported by a finely poised line of acidity. With a round, balanced structure and a generous mouthfeel, this Pinot Gris is approachable in its youth yet offers cellaring potential for three to five years.

This Pinot Gris is sourced from select vineyards across Marlborough, with 73% from the Central Wairau, 21% from the Coastal Awatere, and 6% from the Southern Valleys. Fruit was machine harvested in optimal condition and promptly transported to the winery for gentle pressing. The juice underwent a controlled fermentation in 100% stainless-steel tanks, using carefully selected yeast strains to preserve varietal purity and enhance aromatic expression.
