The wine displays a bright cherry red /burgundy colour with lifted red fruit aromas. On the palate the wine is cool, round and fruity and with a nice hint of chalky tannin that keeps the wine dry and refreshing.
The Kumeu Village Pinot Noir is a combination of fruit from their limestone based vineyard at Rays Road, Hawkes Bay and Pinot Noir from their clay based vineyards in Kumeu.
2021 was an excellent vintage for Pinot Noir. Both Hawkes Bay and Kumeu vineyards experienced smaller harvests and this produced very concentrated and vibrant Pinot Noir. The blend this year is 65% Rays Road and 35% Kumeu. The result is even more delicious than the excellent 2020.
