McGuigan Black Label Shiraz 2021 (Australia)

McGuigan Black Label Shiraz 2021 (Australia)

  • French oak
  • Red berries
  • Spice hints
  • Soft tannins

A smooth and vibrant Shiraz exhibiting rich aromas of red berries, black fruit, black pepper and hints of spice. The full rounded palate displays generous ripe berry fruit flavours, soft tannins and a long lasting finish.

The fruit for this wine was sourced from their vineyards in South Eastern Australia. The climate is hot with high evaporation rates and generally low rainfall, making irrigation essential. The climate is also continental, resulting in long sunny days and noticeably cooler nights. Long sunshine hours ensure fruit ripens fully and low relative humidity results in little incidence of disease.

The grapes were crushed and de-stemmed where it was then fermented on oak for 5 to 7 days. The majority of the wine is then matured in stainless steel tanks. Post-fermentation, components are then blended, stabilised and clarified allowing the winemaker to create this smooth, approachable fruit-dominant wine.

Food Pairing: Pairs well with a range of dishes including tomato based pasta dishes or rich red meat dishes.
