Mills Reef Estate Hawke's Bay Pinot Gris 2022
This delicious Pinot Gris has been crafted from grapes off superior Hawke's Bay vineyards. Full bodied and creamy smooth, it displays attractive peach and lychee flavours complimented with subtle honey dew, nashi and orange blossom notes.

The grapes for this cooler-climate loving variety were sourced from various selected sites throughout the district of Hawke's Bay.
The 2022 growing season experienced a cooler start during Spring flowering, helping to naturally moderate crop for higher wine quality later. The climate then led into an averagely dry summer, continuing right through to harvest, providing ideal conditions which allowed the grapes to be picked at optimal ripeness, prior to an Autumn rainfall spell that rejuvenated the vines and prevented any water stress. Healthy fruit was harvested, starting on 27th February through to 14th March April 2022 with an average brix of 22.5.
This appealing wine was crafted in a fruit-forward style achieved through vinification in stainless steel tanks, along with a slow cool fermentation. Inoculated with yeasts specially selected to bring out the luscious intensity of this aromatic variety, the wine was lightly fined, and progressed through to cold stabilisation, before bottling under screwcap on 30th June 2022.
Food Pairing: Enjoy with antipasto, chicken or fish dishes.
