Mt Monster Limestone Coast Shiraz 2022 (Australia)

Mt Monster Limestone Coast Shiraz 2022 (Australia)

"It's fruit-forward and nicely lifted on the nose with sweet plum, cherry, star anise, and floral aromas. The palate displays juicy fruit intensity with a rounded mouthfeel and smooth texture, leading to a lengthy, silky finish. At its best: now to 2028" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Nov 2025

Deep purple in colour. Ripe cassis and black plum fruits on the nose with violets. Varietal fruit-driven palate, with cassis and dark berry fruit and spice flavours. Soft tannins complement the fruit with mouth-filling generous finish.

Our family vineyard is located in the picturesque and historic Padthaway valley, 300km south of Adelaide. Our rich, fertile terra rosa soils, environmentally friendly viticulture, low yield, and exceptional fruit is how we consistently produce outstanding wines. Small parcels of the highest quality fruit are selected from our family vineyard and handcrafted to create wines with amazing depth and flavour, style and balance.

2022 was very good season with predominantly mild, dry days. Yields were generally low and did result in some excellent parcels of fruit being harvested. Vine-balance was carefully monitored, resulting in fruit that demonstrates the vibrancy and fruit derived characters that we strive for in our wines.

Our Shiraz is fermented in static fermenters at controlled temperatures to retain the varietal aromatics. Once complete the wine is left for 7–10 days on skins to aid in the extraction of soft fleshy tannins and build wine structure. French & American oak has been used sparingly to ensure maximum fruit expression is retained in the final wine.
