Rounded in the mouth, this has a good core underlined by subtle phenolic textures. The acidity is ripe and integrated, enhancing the smooth flow, and the wine carries to a gently honied finish. This is a softly fresh, off-dry Pinot Gris with luscious stonefruit, honeysuckle and floral flavours on a gently textured, smooth-flowing palate.
The nose is soft and elegant with aromas of yellow stonefruits, exotic florals and honeysuckle, revealing suggestion of minerally lees with aeration. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has fresh and gently luscious flavours of yellow stonefruits and honeysuckle along with nuances of exotic florals.
70% Berry Smith clone fruit from the ‘Om Santi’ vineyard and 30% clone 2-15 from the ‘East Base’ vineyard, tank-fermented to 13.3% alc. and 6.8 g/L RS, the wine aged 3 months on lees.
