Tuatara Bay Marlborough Pinot Gris 2024

Tuatara Bay Marlborough Pinot Gris 2024

"Youthfully charming and elegant, the wine shows rockmelon, red apple, ripe pear, and floral aromas on the nose. It's juicy and refreshing in the mouth, offering vibrant fruit flavours with crisp acidity, making it delightfully drinkable. At its best: now to 2027" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jun 2025

Scale_-_Dry

"Bright, even, pale yellow. The nose is soft and appealing, with aromas of pear, apple, blossom, honeysuckle and faint spice. Medium-full bodied, aromas of apple and Nashi pear entwined with blossom, honeysuckle and a touch of ginger. The textural palate features irresistible oiliness, along with fine-textured phenolics, and a refreshing acid line lends a crisp finish" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews

"Crisp, fruity, salivating, and dry. A varietal core of pear and apple with a touch of white spice and fine lees complexity. Balanced and well made with a persistent flavour profile. There’s a light-beer lager-lees note which adds to the mouthfeel. Best from late 2025 through 2027" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier

This wine opens with a refined bouquet of honeyed pear, spice, and delicate pastry notes. The palate is bright and expressive with ripe pear flavours laced with ground cinnamon, and subtle mineral undertones that lead to a crisp, lengthy finish.

The fruit is selected from carefully chosen vineyards nestled in Marlborough’s Awatere and Southern valleys. Each block was selected for its vibrant fruit expression, monitored throughout the 2024 growing season, and harvested at optimal ripeness. Once at the winery, each parcel was gently pressed off skins and fermented coolly in stainless steel to preserve freshness. After fermentation, the wine aged on its lees for seven months, gaining depth, complexity, and finesse.

Food Pairing: Enjoy this Pinot Gris on its own, or pair it with Japanese cuisine, sashimi and chicken yakitori are ideal matches.
