Turkey Flat Butchers Block Barossa Valley Red 2018 (Australia)
- French oak
- Spiced plum
- Medium bodied
- Fine tannins
A medium-bodied palate with red and black berries. Layers of spice, dark plum, cassis and berry fruit adorn the palate - pleasantly held together by fine tannins. Smooth & delicious.
A red blend of 49% Grenache, 35% Syrah and 16% Mataro.
The 2018 growing season was long, hot and dry leading to a slightly early, low yielding vintage. The wines from the 2018 vintage are fruit rich, well coloured and of substance. The vintage will be remembered for producing wines that reflect the generosity for which has made the Barossa famous.
Each varietal is vinified & aged individually in French oak barrels before the final blending process. Grenache the spice and cherry-like sweetness, Shiraz adds the generous mouthfeel and Mataro the backbone, savoury edge and fragrance. Balance is crucial, each varietal’s contribution is evident, yet nothing competes for your attention.
