Whalebone Bay Marlborough Pinot Gris 2022

Whalebone Bay Marlborough Pinot Gris 2022

  • Dry style
  • Ripe pear & peach
  • Subtle spice
  • Lively acidity

"Smooth and mellow, this fruit expressive pinot gris shows ripe pear, rockmelon, apple and lemon peel aromas, followed by a elegantly weighted palate displaying ripe fruit flavours with refreshing acidity. At its best: now to 2024" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Nov 2022

An elegant nose of ripe pear, and honeysuckle with hints of spice. Medium bodied with flavours of peach, ripe citrus and tropical fruit. Mouth filling and smooth with lively acids, minerals and a rich, refreshing mouthfeel and dry finish that lingers.

The fruit was harvested at optimum ripeness from a selection of vineyards, predominantly Wairau and Awatere Valley regions of Marlborough. The grapes were carefully monitored during maturity to ensure they were harvested at the peak of flavour development and ripeness. Once at the winery, the fruit was pressed and cold settled. The juice was then fermented in stainless steel at cold temperatures to preserve purity of flavour.

Food Pairing: This Pinot Gris is terrific as an aperitif and fabulous with spicy Indian dishes.
