Chapoutier Côtes Du Rhône 2019 (France)
- Morello cherry
- Strawberry
- Spices
- Firm tannins
"Richly fruited and immediately appealing with blackberry, sweet cherry, game, cedar and warm spice notes on the nose. It's wonderfully flavoursome on the palate, displaying silky mouthfeel and fleshy texture, offering terrific drinking. At its best: now to 2025" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Dec 2020
A garnet red in colour. This wine is well-structured with firm tannins. Aromas are complex of spices and fruit. Red fruit aromas (mainly morello cherry and strawberry).
The vineyards of this Côtes-du-Rhône come from different soils (from 4 neighbouring regions: Drôme, Vaucluse, Gard and Ardèche) such as clay-calcareous alluvial deposit terraces and clay. Providing this wine an incredible richness and complexity.
The wine is aged in vats and the blending is performed by the end of spring.
The whole grapes are destemmed. A two-week vat time provides a great tannic structure compulsory to its ageing and a good stability. The grapes are hand-harvested at maturity.
