Earthsong Single Vineyard Dillons Point Sauvignon Blanc 2023

Earthsong Single Vineyard Dillons Point Sauvignon Blanc 2023

"It's powerfully expressed on the nose, showing passionfruit, kaffir lime, green rockmelon and green tea aromas, followed by a wonderfully flavoursome palate delivering splendid fruit purity and persistency. Brilliantly structured by juicy acidity, making it highly enjoyable. At its best: now to 2026" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

"Fine-grained, punchy sauvignon blanc with passionfruit, jalapeno pepper and oyster shell flavours together with appealing purity. I love the wine's gentle acidity balanced by fruit sweetness, and its exquisite tension" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review

"Reflective of the vintage this wine delivers a bouquet and palate deliver a pungent, fruity and tasty wine ready for drinking from day of purchase. Flavours of passion fruit and sweet apple, some red bell-pepper and white pineapple. The natural herbaceous seam throughout the wine adds breadth. Plenty of salivating qualities with a saline and fruit freshness. Well made and ready to drink through 2026" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Nov 2023

Originally only available for the export market and selling across the ditch for AU$30 and £17 in the UK, Earthsong is compelling drinking in NZ. Brought to you by the UK-based Master of Wine team behind Alliance Wines and the internationally lauded Thistledown Wines, home to some of Australia’s greatest expressions of Grenache. Designed for the international market, this characterful, premium Sauvignon Blanc is one of the wines of the vintage.

Sourced from a single, regeneratively farmed vineyard in the renowned Dillon’s Point area of the lower Wairau that has previously made multi-gold medal and trophy-winning wines.

The vineyard is not tilled, extensive cover crops are used, and sheep are run in the vineyard over winter to provide nutrients. During the growing season, the vines are shoot-thinned to provide ideal fruit exposure and ripeness. Proximity to the ocean provides perfect nighttime cooling which helps to preserve the crisp acids and brininess. Fruit is the star of the show here, so this allows for relatively simple winemaking. The fruit is tank-fermented and matured on fine lees for 11 months, until bottling. Unlike many local Sauvignons, fining is done with bentonite and as such, the wine is vegan-friendly.
