Framingham Marlborough Classic Riesling 2018
"Big wine with lots of lees work (6-8 months on lees) and a subtle botrytis influence. Honey, grapefruit and mineral flavours with nice sweet-and-sour tension. A moderately complex riesling in an appealing style" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Mar 2019
The aromatics of this Riesling are reminiscent of mandarin and cream, with stonefruit and hints of smoke and rock. This wine showcases a vibrant, intense, focused palate with organge, nectarine and cream flavours and a good line of juicy acidity.
The fruit comes from all three sections on the Estate. Each parcel was hand-picked and punch pressed. Juices were predominately fermented in stainless steel, with some small lots being aged in barrel. Components were aged on full ferment lees for around eight months.
Food Pairing: Match this Riesling with all kinds of pork dishes, other white meats and seafood.
