Framingham 'Select' Marlborough Riesling 2019

Framingham 'Select' Marlborough Riesling 2019

  • Off-dry style
  • Raspberry ripple ice cream
  • Mayer lemon
  • Subtle mineral notes

"Exhibiting outstanding fruit purity and poise, the wine shows nectarine, lemon peel, lime sorbet and white floral aromas on the nose. It's magnificently concentrated and persistent, while remaining elegant and refined with a lovely flow, gorgeously enhanced by attractive sweetness and juicy acidity" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jun 2020

Vibrant aromatics with suggestions of raspberry ripple ice cream, mandarin and Mayer lemon. Concentrated, elegant palate with red fruits, orange citrus, peach and some mineral, stone-like textures. Tense, juicy finish.

Selective hand harvest on 25th March and 2nd April at 21.8 brix (92.5 Öchsle), from the “front” old vines, bunches being selected by appearance. Only bunches that were a rich bronzy gold on the front were taken. Bunches were pressed whole and the resultant juices fermented cool in stainless steel.

Framingham Select Riesling is inspired by the classic German “Spätlese” style. The wine is serious but delicate and light on its feet, with naturally low alcohol and great tension between residual sugar and acidity.
