Framingham's 'Nobody's Hero' Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2022

Framingham's 'Nobody's Hero' Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2022

  • Dry style
  • Feijoa
  • Citrus
  • Flavoursome

"Racy mineral, tensioned and impressive. Not too pungent passionfruit; lemon and salad greens. Dry balance, clean finish. Lean and mineral, crushed rocks: I like this style. Lovely balance and drinkability. A bit Sancerre-ish" Huon Hooke, Real Review, Feb 2023

"Moderately intense sauvignon with tropical fruit, passionfruit, guava, pineapple, lemongrass and green capsicum flavours. Crisp, punchy wine" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Sep 2022

Bright aromatics with hints of feijoa, kiwi fruit and ripe citrus tones. Distinctive yellow capsicum on the palate backed up by an array of tropical fruit. The wine is dry, with a mouthwatering fine acid line and flavoursome length.

Grapes are from 5 sites in the Wairau Valley, all of which bring something different.

Winemaking is all about preserving each sites individual identity, so it's kept simple. Juices from each vineyard are kept seperate and fermented with an apropriate yeast in stainless steel tanks. Individual wines are then blended according to their ideal of a complementary whole.

Food Pairing: Try with green lipped mussels, Caeser salad or pesto-based dishes.
