Giesen Estate New Zealand Riesling 2024
"Charming and immediately appealing, the wine shows golden peach, pineapple, lemon sorbet, and white floral aromas, leading to a juicy palate that's finely textured with attractive sweetness and well-balanced acidity, making it fabulously drinkable. Style: Medium. At its best: now to 2030" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2025

Enjoy striking notes of lime and mandarin and delicious, succulent, juicy sweetness. A vivacious Riesling with succulent citrus blossom, alluring lime and sweet mandarin with a delightfully crisp, refreshing off-dry finish. This Riesling brings together outstanding fruit from two of New Zealand’s preeminent Riesling areas – Marlborough & Waipara.
The fruit selected from Marlborough adds a textural element, richness, citrus flavours and age ability to the wine, while Waipara gives us our fabulous floral aromatics. There is a reason this is New Zealand’s favourite Riesling – try it for yourself!
We use a selection of different yeasts to amplify the regional characteristics of the Marlborough portion of the blend.
Our winemakers tasted each parcel daily and stopped the ferment when the wine was balanced and showed aromas of spice & exotic tropical notes. Stopping the ferment early retains natural sugar which creates the beautiful off-dry element of this wine. It's kept on light lees until bottling to ensure flavour intensity.
