Hãhã Reserve Marlborough Pinot Noir 2019
- French Oak
- Black cherry
- Almond
- Fine tannins
"Gorgeously ripe and delightfully fragrant, the bouquet shows black cherry, floral, clove and almond characters, followed by a delectably expressed palate delivering juicy fruit flavours together with velvety mouthfeel and fine tannins. Comforting and satisfying. At its best: now to 2024" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Nov 2020
Excellent palate weight and fruit intensity with a wonderful depth of flavour and generous structure. Dark fruit aromas of plum and raspberry with ground coffee notes. Deep red with a purple hue.
Only produced when the fruit is exceptional, their Reserve Pinot Noir is picked from specially selected sites in the Wairau Valley in Marlborough. Black cherry, plum and raspberry notes are beautifully balanced with a subtle spice and a long rich finish.
The 2019 growing season was significantly warmer and drier than average, with lower yields due to adverse weather during flowering. This resulted in fantastic Pinot Noir from Marlborough that had thick skins, intense colour and flavour. Fruit for their 2019 Reserve Pinot Noir comes from a selection of vineyard sites in the Wairau Valley in Marlborough. Upon arrival into the winery, the fruit was cold soaked for 3-5 days to extract optimal amounts of flavour and colour. Fermentation followed in small open top tanks using a selection of yeasts. After gently pressing the liquid off the skins post fermentation, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation to soften the palate and was then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
Food Pairing: We love drinking this wine with a mushroom risotto or game meats
