This wine has a complex array of flavours, with lifted aromas of ripe citrus including grapefruit and mandarin, it also shows passionfruit, blackcurrant along with hints of nettles and bell pepper. The palate has a refreshing but elegant acidity, with mouthfilling fruit weight and a delicate minerality that leads through to a pleasant and lingering finish.
The grapes for this wine were sourced from several blocks from a single estate located in Marlborough’s Lower Wairau Valley, owned by the Holdaway Family.
The vineyards have a varied range of soils from fertile free draining vigorous soils to difficult, tight clay soils. They have all greatly benefited from compost applications, cover crops and targeted nutrition over recent years. Experience has shown us that this results in optimal flavour production and balance in our Sauvignon Blanc wines.
