The 2022 is a concentrated Riesling with true Knappstein traits of lime, spice and white florals on the nose and a generously flavoured palate. An elegant wine with lively acid, mineral texture and a powerful and persistent lemon finish.
The fruit is sourced from our own Clare Valley vineyards, showing the spectrum of flavours when blended carefully together. Vine ages range from approximately 10 – 30 years old.
A wet spring, with record November rain saw full dams and soil moisture making for a positive start to the growing season. Favourable conditions throughout flowering and fruit set promoting quality and yield across all varieties. Cool conditions during December and January provided long steady ripening conditions, perfect for developing a combination of fruit flavours.
