Luna Estate Martinborough Pinot Noir 2024
"Very youthful core of ruby, purple and magenta leading to a bouquet of fresh, ripe black cherry and plum, boysenberry and violets, stony red clay soil ideas and a lifted floral highlight. Dry, fruity, varietal and taut with fine tannins and a backbone of acidity showcasing the youthful floral charms of the variety, then framing the red fruits and fine baking spice and gentle reductive tones. Well made, still developing though ready to drink as well from day of purchase through 2031+" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Aug 2025
"It's splendidly fruited and inviting on the nose with aromas of dark plum, sweet cherry, thyme, mushroom, and toasted almond. The palate is equally appealing, with succulent fruit flavours, a supple texture, and polished tannins, making it flavoursome and silky, with a lengthy, satisfying finish. At its best: now to 2030" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, May 2026
A pretty, ruby red colour. There is no mistaking the character here - aromatic floral and red cherry tell you it’s a Pinot, and the savoury, earthy undertones are classic Martinborough. A nice, full, rich and textured mouthful. Plenty of the good stuff; red and black cherry, some slightly sour plum and nice bit toasty spice rounding out the finish. Easy to love and charming. Cellar for 5+ years, but it's hard to see it being more delicious than right now!
Food Pairing: Pork cotoletta, polenta chips and an orange and radicchio salad.
