Misty Cove Landmark Marlborough Chardonnay 2022
- French oak
- Apricot & peach
- Nougat & cashew
- Bright acidity
"It’s elegantly complex on the nose showing apricot, lemon peel, oatmeal, nougat and roasted cashew characters, leading to a gorgeously rounded palate offering refined mouthfeel and bright acidity, finishing persistent and focused. Beautifully layered with delectable flavours and textures. At its best: now to 2028" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Feb 2023
Produced from a blend of clones 95 & Mendoza the aromas of white peach, melon and nectarine shine brightly to deliver a moreish wine worthy of any setting.
A cooler ripening period resulted in a wine that shows expressive aromatics, great concentration, and fresh lively acidity with a precise structure on the palate.
The wine was aged for 8 months in 25% new French barrique and 75% older barrels. The buttery profile has been purposely minimised through selective malolactic fermentation to help deliver an elegantly textured Chardonnay, with beautiful balance and a long pure finish.
Misty Cove’s Landmark Chardonnay is deeply influenced by old world winemaking techniques. Lovingly handcrafted in small batch quantities, we crafted this wine to reflect the “Landmark” – the attributes and characteristics of the Fareham Lane vineyard from which it originated.
