Misty Cove Landmark Marlborough Grüner Veltliner 2020
- Dry style
- Floral notes
- Ripe stone fruit
- Crisp acidity
"Bright and pristine, the wine shows apricot, fresh fig, lemon zest and floral characters on the nose with a touch of spice. It’s succulent and flavoursome on the palate, delivering juicy fruit intensity backed by crisp acidity, finishing long and very tasty. A gorgeous expression of the variety. At its best: now to 2024" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jul 2020
"Crisp, dry grüner veltliner from the Fareham Lane vineyard, with typical white pepper, mandarin blossom, and oyster-shell flavours. Quite a weighty, fleshy wine with refreshing acidity. Great with most seafood dishes" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Sep 2020
Complex, round and rich, the Landmark Grüner Veltliner has notes of orange, ripe stone fruit and white pepper. The palate is beautifully weighted and rounded. It is texturally appealing with lovely fruit vibrancy, leading to long and engaging finish.
Hand harvested and gently processed into the winery; the juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts. The wine was allowed to age gracefully on yeast lees for 3 months before being lightly filtered and bottled in July 2020.
Misty Cove’s Landmark Grüner Veltliner is deeply influenced by old world winemaking techniques. Lovingly handcrafted with small batch qualities, winemakers crafted this wine to reflect the “Landmark” – the attributes and characteristics of the Fareham Lane vineyard from which it originated.
