Misty Cove Landmark Marlborough Pinot Noir 2021
- French oak
- Dark cherry & plum
- Toasted nut
- Silky texture
"Splendidly ripe and perfumed with sweet plum, dark cherry, rich floral and toasted nut characters with a hint of savoury complexity. The palate delivers excellent weight and plump mouthfeel, wonderfully complemented by silky texture and beautifully pitched tannins. Flavoursome and highly appealing. At its best: now to 2029" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Aug 2022
"Light, fruity, supple wine with dark cherry, plum, blueberry, and a suggestion of spice/anise. Accessible, easy-drinking red with good varietal definition. Smooth-textured with a lingering finish" Bob Campbell, Master Sommelier, Real Review, Aug 2022
The fruit was hand harvested from our home block in the Wairau Valley and treated traditionally, allowing the natural fruit concentration and ripe tannin structure to shine. After 10 months of maturation in 35% new French Oak and 65% seasoned French Oak, only selected barrels were chosen to deliver smooth rounded tannins, balanced by youthful acidity and subtle hints of toasty oak.
Misty Cove’s Landmark Pinot Noir is deeply influenced by old world winemaking techniques. Lovingly handcrafted in small batch quantities, we crafted this wine to reflect the “Landmark” – the attributes and characteristics of the Fareham Lane vineyard from which it originated.
