Misty Cove Landmark Marlborough Pinot Noir 2025
"Richly ripe and fragrant, the bouquet showcases dark plum, sweet cherry, floral, warm spice, and assorted nut aromas. The palate delivers succulent fruit intensity, silky texture, and layers of fine tannins, leading to a splendidly long, plush finish. At its best: now to 2031" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, May 2026
Aromatic and layered, the 2025 Landmark Pinot Noir opens with raspberry, cherry and wild strawberry, lifted by violet and subtle spice. The palate is supple yet structured, with fine tannins framing notes of dark plum, cranberry and savoury earth. Gentle French oak adds warmth and complexity, leading to a long, polished finish.
Our Landmark Series is a nod to classic winemaking traditions -sprinkled with Misty’s distinctive edge. Handcrafted in small batches from our Fareham Lane vineyard, this Pinot Noir captures the very essence of the land it hails from.
The 2025 growing season in Marlborough began with a mild spring and excellent flowering, producing balanced yields across the region. Cooler mid-summer conditions slowed sugar accumulation, allowing flavours to develop gradually while preserving natural acidity.
Fruit from our Fareham Lane vineyard was harvested in excellent condition and fermented in small open-top vessels. The wine was then gently pressed and matured for 10 months in French oak barriques (35% new, 65% seasoned). The final blend was selected from the most expressive barrels.
Food Pairing: Pair with rosemary-grilled lamb, venison, roasted duck or beef Wellington. It also complements wild mushroom risotto, grilled kumara and roasted seasonal vegetables.
