Misty Cove Landmark Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2021
- Dry style
- Citrus peel
- Kiwifruit
- Mouthwatering
"Classically styled and expressed showing mango, citrus peel, feijoa and kiwifruit characters on the nose, followed by a powerfully flavoursome palate offering terrific fruit intensity and vibrancy. Mouth-watering and highly enjoyable" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2021
"Initial impression verges on luscious, but the fine, lively acidity kicks in and balances subtle sweetness and gives the wine a crisp, dry finish. A tangy sauvignon with pleasing purity and an ethereal texture" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Oct 2021
Misty Cove’s Landmark Sauvignon Blanc is deeply influenced by old world winemaking techniques. Lovingly handcrafted in small batch quantities, they crafted this wine to reflect the “Landmark” – the attributes and characteristics of the Fareham Lane vineyard from which it originated.
Harvested at night to preserve the purity and intensity of flavours. The wine was further fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks after gentle pressing; and they used the best strains of yeast most suited to the distinctive aromatics of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Lees ageing (6 months) prior to bottling has developed midpalate weight adding to the wine’s intense fruit characters.
