Mon Cheval Waipara Valley Pinot Noir 2017

Mon Cheval Waipara Valley Pinot Noir 2017

"Light ruby-red with some depth, faintly hazy (unfiltered), slightly lighter on the rim. This has a refined, delicate bouquet penetrating aromas of dried Bing cherry, dried raspberry, dark herbs and undergrowth melded with an amalgam of soft spice and dried floral. Medium-light bodied, aromas of dried cherry and dried raspberry enriched by dark herbs, liquorice, white mushroom, dried hibiscus, nutmeg, and cinnamon. The wine is elegant with integrated acidity and silky, supple tannins reflecting a black tea fragrance. The nicely developed Pinot Noir shows incredible complexity, delicate notes and a refined mouthfeel" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, May 2023

Nice developed clear garnet red with a perfumed and spicy nose. Bright cherry, cinnamon, allspice, mushroom and dried herbs come to mind. Medium bodied and elegant with silky tannins and good acidity. Full of cherry, spices and dried herbs on the pallet of this charming developed Pinot Noir that finishes with good length. Should continue to develop for another 7+ years. Aged 18 months in oak, 25% new. Unfiltered and unfined.
