Morambro Creek Padthaway Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 (Australia)

Morambro Creek Padthaway Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 (Australia)

"This is splendidly expressed on the nose with blackcurrant, thyme, game, and elegant oak characters. The palate is equally satisfying with excellent weight, fleshy texture, and chalky tannins, making it wonderfully structured and persistent with delectable flavours. At its best: now to 2033" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Nov 2025

Deep purple in colour. A rich elegant nose of cassis with overtones of vanilla and coffee. Lush, ripe palate dominated by black fruits, cherry and chocolate. Full bodied with savory, integrated fruit tannins and persistent finish.

Our family vineyard is located in the picturesque and historic Padthaway valley, 300km south of Adelaide. Our rich, fertile terra rossa soils, environmentally friendly viticulture, low yield, and exceptional fruit is how we consistently produce outstanding wines. Small parcels of the highest quality fruit are selected from our family vineyard and handcrafted to create wines with amazing depth of flavour, style and balance.

2021 was a very good season with predominantly mild, dry days. Yields were generally low and this did result in some excellent parcels of fruit being harvested. Vine-balance was carefully monitored, resulting in fruit that demonstrates the vibrancy and fruit-derived characters that we strive for in our wines.

Winemaking at Morambro Creek is very traditional and labour intensive. Oak maturation takes place using 35% new French barrels. This blend was put together using select barrels from our family estate that best demonstrate the intensity of our fruit balanced by integrated oak.
