Mount Fishtail Marlborough 'Sur Lie' Sauvignon Blanc 2020 (Export Wine)
- Apricot
- Lemon zest
- Oatmeal
- Juicy acidity
"Offering elegant complexity, this is beautifully styled and expressed, showing apricot, passionfruit, floral and lime zest aromas on the nose with a hint of oatmeal. The palate displays excellent weight and finely textured mouthfeel, backed by juicy acidity, leading to a lengthy refreshing finish. At its best: now to 2024" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Nov 2020
Aromas of feijoa, kiwifruit and rock melon flavours with a lovely lemon zest overtone. It's intense and concentrated with classic varietal characters combined with refreshing acidity, offering terrific drinking. An elegant style that leaves a lasting impression.
Harvested in the cool of the morning and softly pressed. Fermented slowly in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures to preserve the freshness and zing of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Lees aging (6 months) prior to bottling has developed mid-palate weight adding to the wine's intense fruit characters.
Sur Lie ageing is the process of allowing this wine to sit on the lees (left over dead yeast cells) in order to extract flavours and enrich the palate. Wines aged on their lees tend to be creamier, richer, fuller-bodied with greater depth and complexity.
