"The fragrant, floral red fruits and spice and pepper on the bouquet are joined by black pepper and licorice on the palate. Hard to resist at this price, very hard. No patience is required, it is ready now" Halliday Wine Companion, Jan 2020
"This cherry-hued cool-climate Shiraz takes awhile to open in glass, but with time it rewards, with aromas of earthy spice, warm stone minerals and black-cherry fruit. The palate is equally as tightly wound, with powerful dusty tannins, lifted acidity and tangy fruit. This needs plenty of air or another year or two in bottle, but it nevertheless offers excellent value for money" Christina Pickard, Wine Enthusiast, Jan 2019
"A bright and ripe shiraz that has abundant, pepper-laced blackberry and plum aromas with a fresh, zesty and intense core of fine and fresh tannin. Drink now" James Suckling, Jun 2019
"Wonderfully fruited and elegantly styled, the wine shows dark plum, cranberry, olive, anise and hazelnut aromas on the nose, leading to a beautifully weighted palate that is flavoursome and nicely polished. It is soothing and refined with a lingering, delicate dry finish. At its best: now to 2027" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Oct 2019
This Shiraz displays a bright, deep garnet in the glass, accompanied by aromas of intense, rich red and black fruits, overlayed with dried florals and spice. This is a layered, generous wine with bounds of aromatic florals and spice, luscious red and black fruits paired with finely structured tannins and mouth-watering acidity. Drink now until 2023.
The 2017 Billi Billi Shiraz is sourced from a selection of premium cool climate vineyards throughout Victoria; predominantly the Grampians including a portion from the Mount Langi Ghiran vineyards, home of the iconic Langi Shiraz.
The 2017 vintage delivered ideal growing conditions with a long dry summer and cool nights.
The fermentation method underwent open fermenters, plunged and pumped over.
Food Pairing: Pair this delicious Shiraz with a lean, grilled lamb, If you’re not a huge lamb fan, they try grass fed beef.
