Mount Riley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2024
"This is fabulously aromatic on the nose, showing Gala apple, feijoa, green rockmelon and lime zest aromas. The palate is equally appealing with vibrant fruit flavours, displaying fine texture and juicy acidity. Upfront and intensely flavoursome, making it highly enjoyable. At its best: now to 2027" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jul 2024
Light straw with green hues. Complex aromas of citrus, passionfruit, gooseberries and currant with a touch of crushed herbs. Weighty mouthfeel with intense although refined flavours finishing with a crisp acidity.
Our 2024 Sauvignon Blanc is a blend from multiple vineyard sites throughout Marlborough, with a portion from the Awatere Valley and the balance from the Wairau Valley. Grapes were crushed and destemmed prior to pressing and fermentation was induced by the introduction of carefully selected yeast strains. We fermented in stainless steel at cool temperatures to preserve the lifted aromatics in this wine.
Marlborough’s 2024 harvest was dominated by dry, windy weather, super clean fruit and delicious flavours. The season in Marlborough was marked by the change from the La Nina weather patterns of the last two years to a strong El Nino.
Food Pairing: Drinking well now; this wine can be enjoyed until late 2027. Great as an aperitif or match with seafood, smoked fish, fresh salads, or chargrilled vegetables.
