Mt Difficulty Roaring Meg Central Otago Pinot Noir Rosé 2024
"Charming and elegant, the bouquet shows ripe strawberry, lemon peel, creaming soda and floral aromas, leading to a finely flowing palate that's delicate yet flavoursome. Beautifully poised and lingering with ripe berry flavours. At its best: now to 2026" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2024

An aromatic and elegant bouquet of white strawberry, rose, watermelon and fresh cream. Floral notes lead the palate with vibrant strawberry, nectarine and honeydew melon. A creamy mid palate leads to a textural and elegant finish. Roaring Meg Pinot Noir Rosé is at its best within two years of release.
The grapes for this wine come from our Cromwell Basin vineyards managed by our dedicated viticultural team.
2024 continued a string of excellent vintages in Central Otago. We experienced a very warm and dry growing season before a wicked wind kicked in from November to January. While soil moisture was reaching drought levels, we managed to keep the vines vital, producing small concentrated berries and powerful wines with lovely acidity. With no rain during February we started harvest early on March 14. Conditions cooled toward the end of March with ripening slowing and the vintage complete by Anzac Day.
Pinot Noir grapes for this wine were harvested by a combination of hand picking and machine harvesting at the end of March. They were pressed quickly off skins to create and elegant and fresh wine. A range of aromatic yeasts were selcted to highlight the varietal vibrancy of this early-picked Pinot Noir. The wine was blended and bottled immediately after vintage to capture the wine’s vibrancy and freshness.
