Mystery Central Otago Pinot Noir 2017 (01)

Mystery Central Otago Pinot Noir 2017 (01)

  • French oak
  • Dark plum & cherry
  • Roasted nut & spice
  • Well-pitched tannins

"This is stylish and gorgeously composed, showing dark plum, cherry, roasted nut, game and dried herb aromas on the nose, leading to a wonderfully weighted palate that’s elegant yet flavoursome and persistent. It’s refined and complex with well-pitched tannins, finishing impressively long and engaging. At its best: now to 2024" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Dec 2019

"A regional classic. Certified organic, the very age-worthy 2017 vintage was estate-grown and matured in French oak barriques. Full-coloured, it is mouthfilling, concentrated, savoury and structured, with ripe cherry, plum, spice and nut flavours, slightly earthy notes adding complexity, real depth through the palate and a long finish. Best drinking mid-2021+" Michael Cooper 2020

100% Pinot Noir on its own roots planted 1993, Biodynamic principles, practiced from 2011, Organic certification to European Union equivalence since 2008.

All fruit hand-picked, natural yeasts, on skins for three weeks. Matured in French oak, 20% new. Bottled September 2018, without fining or filtration. Minimal addition of preservative.
