"It's delightfully ripe and inviting on the nose showing dark plum, sweet cherry, clove and rich floral aromas. The palate has excellent fruit weight and intensity, wonderfully supported by succulent fruit flavours and spicy nuances. Well framed by fine tannins, finishing splendidly long and satisfying. At its best: now to 2030" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Oct 2022
"Ripe, fruity, varietal, youthful; aromas of dark berries and smoky wood with baking spices and a layer of black pepper. Flavours of black currant and raspberry, new wood with smoky tones and a dry stone earthy quality. Taut and youthful with firm tannins and plenty of acidity, flavours reflect the bouquet with dark berries and black currant, spices and plenty of mouthfeel. Young and vibrant with best drinking from late 2023 through 2029" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Oct 2022
A supple spicy Syrah, this wine has aromas of violet and pepper, and rich flavours of blueberry and plum with a dusting of cocoa. This is followed by fine youthful tannins and a fresh finish.
The fruit for this wine was sourced from a vineyard in the Bridge Pa district of Hawke’s Bay. Here mature vines and optimal growing conditions ensure high quality yields.
A combination of pump-overs and plunging was used to ensure maximum flavour and colour extraction from the skins. This in combination with an extended maceration period ensured intense flavouring and colour. This wine was aged in old French Oak for 12 months, before the final blend was assembled. No finings were added to this wine prior to bottling.
Food Pairing: Excellent with Duck, venison casserole, roast beef and mushroom.
