"This is gorgeously complex and enticing on the nose, showing dark plum, ripe cherry, cedar, vanilla and toasted spice characters with a hint of dried mushroom nuance. The concentrated palate delivers terrific fruit richness and power, while remaining refined and sophisticated with a sustained velvety finish. At its best: now to 2029" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jan 2024
Attractive ruby in colour with aromas of Doris plum and pastry. A focused palate of blueberry and blackcurrant with a concentrated tannin line throughout. Drinking beautifully from release, this wine will continue to improve over the next four years.
The fruit for this exquisite Marlborough Pinot Noir was sourced from select vineyards around the region, predominantly the Southern Valleys. Providing an array of dark fruit and savoury characters.
The fruit was fermented at warm temperatures in stainless steel tanks where it was plunged once daily during fermentation, extracting further colour flavour and texture. Post-fermentation the wine was matured on lees with a combination of seasoned French oak barriques and new oak, only then did this Pinot Noir go through a second fermentation called malolactic fermentation. The finished wine was filtered, fined, and prepared for bottling.
