Mystery Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2022 (Export Wine) (02)
"This is wonderfully fruited and enticing with kiwifruit, passionfruit, Granny Smith apple and fresh herb aromas on the nose, leading to a vibrant palate that’s filled with pristine fruit flavours backed by juicy acidity, making it fabulously refreshing and instantly appealing" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2022
"Tangy wine with a suspicion of sweetness nicely balanced by vibrant acidity. Typical Marlborough sauvignon flavours that suggest passionfruit, capsicum, lemongrass, gooseberry and guava" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Oct 2022
Pink grapefruit, passionfruit, pineapple, and guava aromas leap from the glass, leading to a plate that explodes with tangy tropical fruit and citrus flavours. Outstanding depth of flavour is balanced by mouth-watering acidity resulting in a juicy, succulent finish that lingers long after you swallow.
Sauvignon Blanc grapes were sourced from Dillions Point, east of Blenheim, a sub-region renowned for producing striking, award-winning Sauvignon Blanc. Winemaking was focused on capturing the powerful aromas and flavours Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is famous for. The fruit was destemmed and gently pressed with the clarified juice fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks over several weeks. A small amount of residual sweetness was retained to balance the acidity and the wine bottled early to preserve its youthful exuberance and energy.
Food Pairing: A classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc bursting with flavour that can be enjoyed on its own or partnered Asian-inspired dishes. Try it with a crispy skin pork red curry. Drink while young and fresh (within two years from harvest date). Serve chilled.
