Mystery Wairarapa Sauvignon Blanc 2023
"Fleshy, ripe, fruity and loaded with fresh herbs and tropical fruit scents. Aromas and flavours of fresh red apple and grapefruit, some white peach and white florals laced with a wet stone mineral quality. Fresh herbs of basil and sage then passionfruit and pineapple. Crisp and dry on the finish with a core of fruit and salivating textures. Best drinking from late 2023 through 2026" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier
This vibrant aromatic wine is bursting with classic Sauvignon Blanc aromas of herb, passionfruit, currant and gooseberry. The palate is concentrated and lively with ripe citrus and stone fruit flavours and a crisp mineral finish.
The fruit for this wine is sourced from established vineyards in Wairarapa that consistently produce excellent Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The naturally low yields and cool dry climate produce fruit with intense flavours and ripe acidity.
The focus in the winery is to capture the pure fruit flavours coming from the vineyard. The fruit was harvested at optimum ripeness and gently pressed before cool fermentation with a variety of yeasts that expressed the pungent thiol aromas in the fruit.
Food Pairing: We love to drink this wine any time or with seafood and pasta dishes.
