Pisa Range Estate Run 245 Central Otago Pinot Noir 2019
- French oak
- Blackberries
- Thyme & black pepper
- Elegant tannins
"Bright, ruby-red with good transparency, lighter edged. The nose is gently full and voluminous, filled the glass with dark cherries and blackberries, earth, interweave dried thyme, black pepper. The palate is medium-bodied, elegantly presented, aromas of dark cherries, blackberries are fragrant, intermix a hint of dark plums, thyme meadow, black pepper, unfolding black tea fragrance, subtle earthy savouriness. Supple, powdery tannin lightly coated the palate; silky thread knitted with lacy acidity, elegantly flow to a sustained pleasing finish. This is an elegant Pinot Noir with dark fruit, earth and silky tannin structure, over delivered on all levels. Match with wagyu bresaola and smoked duck breast over the next 5 years" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews, Jul 2021
Vibrant red fruits, elegant tannins, pairs well with duck, lamb and other red meats.
Run 245 was the pastural tenure number given to the land at Pisa in 1866. Since that time it has rewarded those who have walked it and represents the unique expression of Central Otago. Select parcels from across the region were chosen for this wine that have a unique expression, and when combined, truly reflect the essence of the terrior.
