Saint Clair James Sinclair Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2024

Saint Clair James Sinclair Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2024

"Bright, even, pale yellow. The nose is distinctive, with aromas of gooseberry, lime, pepperberry and fresh basil. Medium-light bodied, aromas of gooseberry and lime, entwined with pepperberry, fresh basil, jalapeno and stony minerals. The crunchy acidity is lifted and full of energy, carrying stony minerals to an enticing, appetising finish" Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Reviews, Jul 2025

"This is instantly appealing on the nose, showing Granny Smith apple, pineapple, passionfruit and lime zest aromas. The palate displays excellent fruit intensity and fabulous purity, leading to a lingering, juicy finish. At its best: now to 2027" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2024

"A punchy, ripe and distinctive bouquet with definitive scents of red apple and sweet citrus, no mistaking the tropical fruit scents of mango and passionfruit. Then there’s a red bell-pepper and sweet green herb quality. These ideas translate to the palate seamlessly framed by acidity and a luscious mouthfeel. Well made, lengthy, refreshing and ready. A lovely example with best drinking from day of purchase through 2028+" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier, Aug 2025

Pale green. Fresh aromas of tropical passionfruit and green capsicum with notes of lifted citrus and flint. Intense and concentrated with flavours of ripe passionfruit and white grapefruit combined with a delicate herbal thread and a salty mineral note on the finish. Drinking beautifully now and will be at its best over the next three years.

The fruit was sourced from a selection of premium vineyards located in the Dillons Point sub-region of the lower Wairau Valley, at the mouth of the Wairau River. These vineyards are planted on floodplains, rich in nutrients, producing wines with heightened expression.

Each vineyard block was harvested at optimum flavour maturity and physiological ripeness. Grapes were transported to the winery quickly and pressed off immediately to minimise skin contact. After cold settling, the juice from each batch was fermented at cool temperatures using selected yeast strains. Each batch was assessed for quality and only the best components were selected for this James Sinclair blend.

Food Pairing: A perfect match for pan-fried fresh fish with corn salsa.
