St Hugo Barossa GSM 2021 (Australia)
- Seasoned oak
- Plum & blueberry
- Exotic spice
- Ripe tannins
"Vivid red purple in the glass,super-ripe plum and blueberry notes are lead by wafts of frangipani over a base of exotic spice, amaro herbs, licorice, earth and cherry danish. A very modern, juicy take on the classic blend, with pure, juicy fruit, tight ripe tannin and a finish that lingers beautifully. It's just great, spicy drinking" Halliday Wine Companion 2021
"A delightfully pure and fragrant blend of Grenache Shiraz and Mourvedre with structure coming from the fine chalky tannins. It's a wine driven by the 62% Grenache from vineyards 100 and 80 years old. The older vineyard brings a graphite character, and the sandier vineyards bring more perfume. Wonderfully seductive scents with a superb texture and richness delivered with a high degree of finesse and subtlety. It only gets older oak, most of which is larger format puncheons and some vats. So this is a fruit in a big way. Red fruit is dominant with just a trace of graphite and certain pinot-noir-like viscosity. Love it" Ray Jordan, The West Australian
This Grenache Shiraz Mataro exudes the best elements of all three varietals while typifying the unique style of the region.
Mark your milestones with the St Hugo range. Crafted for those who enjoy the finer things in life, these fine Australian red wines are lauded for their depth, intensity and ability to age gracefully.
