Classic Bordeaux blend of 70 % Merlot, 20 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 5 % Cabernet Franc and 5 % Malbec. Deep purplish red in colour. A generous fruit-driven nose evoking redcurrant blackberry and cherry. Good body on the palate enveloped by supple tannins leading to balanced aromas of red summer berries. The finish is frank, underpinned by subtle spicy, woody notes.

Recently voted France’s Best Negociant by La Revue du Vin de France, Calmel & Joseph has been producing some of the best value reds in the Languedoc-Roussillon. Unlike many negociants (who typically blend and buy finished wine), Calmel & Joseph have a rigorous vineyard selection policy and they also get closely involved in the winemaking. Their preference is for cooler terroirs and working with sustainably or organically farmed vineyards.

For rich, ripe, mouthfilling Rhône Villages that’s well priced, head for the Plan de Dieu vineyards in the south. The area is strewn with the same pebbles that you’ll find in Châteauneuf du Pape and that help achieve super ripeness by absorbing heat in daytime and radiating it at night. Resulting in some of the most attractive, warm fruited (and affordable) wines you’re likely to find anywhere. The Dames de Bonpas certainly make the most of its location with this luscious, Gold medal red and its waves of ripe, velvety fruit and smoky complexity.

This southern French beauty is bursting with red fruit aromas with plum and cherry dominate with a hint of vanilla from the oak ageing. Well balanced, rich and completely drinkable! The grapes for the Fortant de France Cabernet Sauvignon are sourced from selected vineyards located in the coastal valleys around Sète in southern France. The coastal terroir is sunny and bountiful, offering delectable, exuberant wines with flavours of red and blue fruit.

Château Puy de Guirande is owned by the Nazelli family.  Frederic Nazelli returned from military service in 1984 and decided to take his my parents’ estate in Marcillac. He gradually expanded and restructured the vineyard, which now covers 22.5 hectares, producing silky Merlot dominate clarets that consistently win awards in global wine competitions.

A classic Bordeaux blend of 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc.  Château Puy de Guirande is choke full of classic blackcurrant and plummy fruit.  Soft and smooth, great current drinking but will keep for another 5-7 years.
