1 x Belles Vignes Collection Languedoc GSM 2019 (France)

Sweetly fruited and beautifully fragrant, the wine shows Black Doris plum, cranberry, violet and mixed spice aromas, followed by a succulent palate that is plump and smooth. Modern, flavoursome and elegant at the same time, making it splendidly drinkable.

A classic Southern French blend of Grenache, Syrah and the little known Marselan. Generously flavoured and sturdy, this is filled with dark fruit, game and spice characters, beautifully enhanced by fruit richness and smooth mouthfeel. The wine is well structured by pleasingly dry tannins.

Food Pairing: a wonderful partner to winter slow-cooked dishes and other flavoursome meat dishes.

As with so many Grenache-based Rhône reds, this wine is all about pure, up-front, ripe fruit flavours that present as cut cherry and black raspberry with lifted sweet all-spice and other juicy dark fruits that flow across the palate.

Rive droite, rive gauche simply means "right bank, left bank" and the name derives from the fruit for the wine being sourced from both sides of the Rhône river. It is also a French film starring the rotund wine-nut actor Gerard Depardieu. In 2018 this modest beauty has backed up its stellar efforts from the hugely enjoyable 2015 & 2016 vintages.
