Torres Viña Esmeralda Moscatel Gewürztraminer 2017 (Spain)

Torres Viña Esmeralda Moscatel Gewürztraminer 2017 (Spain)

"The wine is immediately appealing on the nose showing cranberry, watermelon, rockmelon and floral characters, followed by a vibrant palate that is juicy and refreshing. The wine offers bright fruit intensity and fine texture, finishing long and tasty" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2018

"Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter edged. The nose is elegantly concentrated with intense and penetrating aromas of greet tea and musk, with grapey notes melded with fennel nuances, unfolding rose-petal florals and a minerally edge. The aromatics are firm and fresh, and tightly bound. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has intense and elegantly concentrated flavours of musk, green tea, grapes with notes of lychees, rose-petal florals, entwined with subtle herb and mineral nuances. The palate has richness and suggestions of unctuousness, along with soft acidity, and the wine carries to a long, softtextured finish of herbs and musk. This is an elegantly concentrated dry Moscatel and Gewurztraminer blend with subtle unctuousness of herb, musk and tea flavours with good drive and length. Match with Asian cuisine over the next 3 years" Raymond Chan, Mar 2018

Brilliant straw yellow. Very fragrant, with delicate floral (rose) and fruit (lychee) notes. Soft and seductive on the palate with a luscious (acacia honey) finish.

The Mediterranean breeze blends with the scent of roses, which grow around our vineyards further inland, to bring us our most cherished gem: Viña Esmeralda. A pleasure to share that evokes the beauty of the Mediterranean and its unique places.

A dry, warm year. A cool winter and mild spring gave way to a generally hot summer, especially in June. In terms of precipitation, the winter was wetter than the year before, whereas spring saw normal amounts of rain, and the summer was very dry, as was September, with less rainfall than in previous years.

Food Pairing: Sublime with seafood appetizers, fish and pâté. Well worth trying with Asian food
