Vidal Reserve Marlborough Pinot Noir 2019

Vidal Reserve Marlborough Pinot Noir 2019

  • French oak
  • Red berry
  • Floral notes
  • Finely textured

Sustainably grown in the Wairau Valley and naturally fermented this wine expresses lovely red berry and floral aromatics, combining with flavours of cherry, spice and earthy undertones on a finely textured and flavoursome palate. Enjoyable in its youth but will continue to gain complexity with time. Fragrant, fresh, flavoursome and finely textured.

This Pinot Noir from the 2019 vintage was grown in premium vineyards in the Wairau Valley of Marlborough. The unique climate and soils in this valley, combined with unwavering attention to detail in the vineyard, consistently produce fruit of the highest quality.

Grapes were harvested and left to rest in tank before natural fermentation. Hand plunged ferments ensured gentle extraction of flavour and aroma. Some batches were fermented at warmer temperatures to contribute density and structure, while others were fermented at lower temperatures to emphasise fruit characters, purity and elegance. The wines were pressed and run to French barrique where malolactic fermentation took place. Extended maturation on lees has added complexity to the final wine.

Food Pairing: Poultry, game and pork.
