W5 Marlborough Riesling 2022

W5 Marlborough Riesling 2022

  • Medium-sweet style
  • Meyer lemons
  • Sweet mandarin
  • Firm acidity

"This is gorgeously composed and refined, showing Granny Smith apple, nectarine, lime peel and jasmine aromas with a hint of spicy complexity. The concentrated palate delivers fine flow and juicy fruit flavours with subtle sweetness and beautifully pitched acidity. Splendidly elegant and fabulously appealing. Style: Medium-dry. At its best: now to 2030" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

An elegant wine bursting with flavours of Meyer lemons and sweet mandarin with a delicate grapefruit blossom and mineral note. Made in Germanic style, the natural residual sugar is balanced by firm acidity creating an off-dry impression. This is a great Riesling to cellar for up to five years from vintage date (if you are patient enough), otherwise excellent drinking now.

Located from a single vineyard in Marlborough’s Wairau Valley this block enjoys high sunshine hours and the older alluvial soils sees a relatively slow ripening phase giving good flavour concentration, distinct citrus and mineral notes.

Food Pairing: Enjoy on its own  as an aperitif or with Asian spiced pork.
