Whalebone Bay Marlborough Riesling 2020
- Off-dry style
- Green aple
- Zesty lime
- Subtle minerality
"Elegant and pristine, the wine shows white flesh nectarine, crunchy apple, lemon/lime zest and floral aromas on the nose, followed by a finely textured palate that's linear and persistent. It's attractively supported by subtle sweetness and bright acidity, finishing long and refreshing" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Oct 2021
Fresh and lively flavours of green apple and lime bounce off the tongue. The palate is full of zesty citrus flavours with an underlying minerality and acid drive. An off dry mouthfeel balances the wine allowing for a long and lingering finish. Perfect for drinking now this wine will continue to reward for the next two to three years.
These grapes were harvested predominantly from select vineyards sites in Marlborough’s Awatere at the peak of flavour development in the cool of the evening. After fermentation the parcels of fruit were carefully blended together and prepared for bottling.
Food Pairing: A lovely aperitif wine or well matched with fresh fish or Asian cuisine.
